New Amsterdam came to the end of its third season with several surprises and a romantic ending for Doctors Max Goodwin and Helen Sharpe. Now, NBC has announced when the next installment of the medical drama will premiere.
When it seemed like fans would have to wait one more season, New Amsterdam surprised with a tender but expected outcome for all the chemistry that has existed from the beginning between doctors Max Goodwin (Ryan Eggold) and Helen Sharpe (Freema Agyema).
That kiss would seal the future of the new couple, who will now have to find how to resolve pending issues that could hinder their relationship. One of them is Max’s in-laws, who have tried to win custody of little Luna, even though Dr. Goodwin has proven to be a fairly dedicated father.
According to the actors who play Max and Helen in the NBC medical drama New Amsterdam, both characters should have a significant time of romance, then move on to the next stage of their relationship, something they have long awaited.
However, we will have to wait a few months to find out how the writers will approach this plot in season 4 of New Amsterdam, which NBC expects to premiere in autumn of this year, that is, between the months of October and November.
Other stories that New Amsterdam writers will find interesting to explore include those of Dr. Lauren Bloom (Janet Montgomery) with Leyla Shinwari (Shiva Kalaiselvan) and Dr. Floyd Reynolds (Jocko Sims), who will be involved in the open relationship between Dr. Lyn Malvo (French Turner) and her husband.
On the other hand, the apparent farewell to Dr. Iggy (Tyler Labine), who has been battling since season two with his apparent inability to care for his patients, could put an interesting twist on the new season of New Amsterdam that fans are already waiting for.
