RIAMO (BOILER) – May 9. In Kotelniki, more than 300 people took part in a rally dedicated to the 76th Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the press service of the district administration reports.

The meeting was attended by the head of the city district Sergey Zhigalkin, deputies of the Council of Deputies, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, representatives of various public organizations of the city, as well as volunteers and members of youth organizations.

The event began with Zhigalkin’s congratulations to the residents of Kotelniki.

“Dear veterans! Dear residents of the city district. Today is the 76th anniversary of the Great Victory. I sincerely congratulate everyone on this day. This is a holiday of the strength, heroism and greatness of the Soviet people! Low bow to every veteran, ”said the head of the district.

Despite the cold rainy weather, more than 300 people attended the rally. Residents of the city honored the memory of the fallen heroes in a severe brutal war with a minute of silence, and after that they laid flowers at the Cranes monument.

At the end of the rally, according to tradition, the head of Kotelnikov, together with the younger generation, released white doves into the sky, symbolizing freedom, peace and love.

Also, a whole “military camp” was set up on the territory of the Belaya Dacha park. Residents of the city could assemble and disassemble a machine gun, listen to stories about the war, practice first aid in a military hospital and taste real soldier’s porridge from the field kitchen.

Victory Day is truly a great holiday. It is a symbol of pride in those who defended freedom, who gave their lives at the front for the sake of a brighter future.
