This week, Montgomery County updated the guide to use of face masks or face coverings in local government buildings.
“Wearing a mask in most county offices and facilities is voluntary, in most situations for people who are fully vaccinated,” the Montgomery County executive said during his weekly virtual press conference, the Wednesday.
Face coverings are still required in county buildings that offer health services, such as the Crisis Center, dental clinics, correctional facilities and homeless shelters, according to officials. Businesses and workplaces may still choose to require face coverings.
The new county guidance is consistent with current state policy and CDC guidance.
