Unincorporated community in Alabama, USA

Long Island (also called Charpentier, Carpenter station, and Carpenters station)[2] is an unincorporated community in the northeast corner of Jackson County, Alabama, United States. Long Island appears on the Bridgeport US Geological Survey map.[3] It would have been named Carpenter for a family that lived there before 1852, when it received the English form of the original Cherokee village name on the Long Island in the Tennessee River dating from 1783.[4]
