Report cards are coming! Report cards are coming!

Hello Graduates, Students, Families, and Support People!

I hope your summer is off to a great start. We are working hard in our Summer School Credit Recovery Program and enjoying the Summer Enrichment Classes funded by the 21st Century Grant. It’s not too late to sign up for our second session of Summer School (June 21 – July 2), we’re offering Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, and Quantitative Reasoning. The list of Summer Enrichment offerings is included in this packet. You can sign up on our website cityhighschool.org for Credit Recovery and Enrichment programs. I hope you can join us for jewelry making, radio DJ, Dungeons and Dragons, biking, or basketball, check out all the offerings!

Today we are sending out a mailing that includes your Semester 2 report card with official letter grades and a progress report that shows your proficiency levels (H, P, N, E) for the performance indicators (standards) for each course you were enrolled in this year. For our graduates, we’ve included a copy of your transcript. If you would like an official transcript sent to your college or career program or workplace, please let us know. You can request a transcript on our website under the College and Career tab. We’ve also included a flyer for our summer meal program – we’re offering free “grab and go” breakfast and lunch for all youth aged 2 – 18 every weekday morning from 8am – 10am. Please pass this information along to any families that might be interested.

This has been quite the year that we have faced together and we are deep into the planning for the coming school year. We are expecting to return to in-person schooling at full capacity and are working on the appropriate safety protocols to make that possible. We also anticipate some staffing changes in the fall, while we know that change can be challenging, we are excited about the opportunity to expand our community at City High School and to bring on board several new teachers and staff. We will continue to create an environment in which students are recognized as unique and incredible human beings. We remain committed to expanding our practices around diversity, equity and inclusion.
