This Thursday, June 10, 2021, early in the morning, friends of the Suffolk Regiment were many to follow the exceptional crane operation of a Churchill tank, on the Hillman site, in Colleville-Montgomery (Calvados).
Arrived from Saumur (Maine-et-Loire), at 9 am, on a Dubreil transport truck, the 24-tonne machine was placed on its tracks previously installed, by a crane from the Caen company Foselev.
Two hours were needed to finalize the various manipulations. This tank was made available to the association by the Saumur Armored Museum under an agreement. “We have taken charge of the transport costs and we set the objective of restoring it for 2024” explains Richard Hulin, the president of the association.
