CM – Maryland Weather: Flooding as heavy rains hit the area

BALTIMORE (WJZ) – The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Baltimore County and the City of Baltimore until 9:00 p.m.

Showers and thunderstorms produce heavy rains throughout the region. Hourly precipitation rates greater than 1 to 2 inches per hour have been observed and are possible throughout the evening during a thunderstorm. Remember to #TurnAroundDontDrown pic.twitter.com/V6LHSdwxWA

Heavy rains continue to move in our region. Flooding has been reported in Parkville. Baltimore County officials advise motorists to avoid these areas:

The BGE app reports 15 outages in Baltimore City at 5:33 pm There are 34 reported outages in Baltimore County.

A flash flood warning has been issued for Wicomico County until 5:30 pm There is a flood warning for Anne Arundel County until 10 pm. There is a flash flood warning for Prince George & Charles County until 8:00 PM.

Flash flood watches were issued for most of the state Thursday afternoon until 9 p.m. including: Calvert, Carroll, Frederick, Garrett, Harford, Howard, Montgomery, St. Mary’s and Washington counties are under surveillance.
