Get transported back to 1920s Shanghai in this beautiful Georgian home. Think colorful hand-painted chinoiserie wallpaper and red lacquered cabinets and cabinets.

The food is just as elegant: Crispy Soft Shell Crab, Crispy Caramelized Mandarin Beef, and the brightest Roast Peking Duck.

Start with cocktails in the basement’s cute Moon Bar and work up an appetite.

Not strictly new, but revived after it was thought to have closed for good during the pandemic, this iconic brasserie was originally opened by actor Michael Caine and restaurateur Peter Langan in 1976.

It quickly became the place to see and be seen, its diners have included everyone from David Bowie to Princess Diana.

Today, the famous red neon signs are back, and under new owners Graziano Arricale and James Hitchen, the elegant menu features favorites from fruit de mer trays to filet mignon.

The name is a tribute to the hotel’s first owner, Isaac Horton, who opened this local landmark in 1879. You’ll find comforting classic American fare like hot dogs, cornbread and cheesecake, and brasserie staples like steak tartare and veal milanese. .

One of the best hotels in college town, Rusacks, has been relaunched with a fabulous new rooftop restaurant.

Named after the 18th hole of the Old Course it faces, the elegant wood-paneled room also offers panoramic views of West Sands Beach.

MasterChef: The Professionals winner Derek Johnstone oversees the kitchen, which showcases seasonal Scottish ingredients cooked on a robata grill over an open fire. You’ll find Borders lamb rump, St Andrews Bay smoked lobster and Aberdeen Angus beef.

Maine, Mayfair
