Pasewalk (dpa) – The small town of Pasewalk in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district becomes a film set: ARD Degeto is currently shooting the television comedy “McLenBurger – Once in a Lifetime” (working title), which will be shown next year in the first.
The film has top-class cast: Steffi Kühnert (“Tatort”) plays Hilde, who wants to start again with a burger shop and runs into unexpected difficulties. The McLenBurger is her own creation, in which the regional cuisine has also flowed. Martin Brambach (“The Lives of Others”, “Tatort”) plays Hilde’s partner Ronnie, Lasse Myhr (“Soko Potsdam”) plays her son Thomas, who fired her from his fast-food restaurant.
A conscious decision was made to use Pasewalk as the location, says producer Ariane Krampe. “Stories from the East are not exactly overrepresented on German television.” And when filming takes place in the east, it is often on Rügen or in the Berlin area. “Pasewalk is one of those places that we tend not to have on our dramaturgical map.”
The crew around director Markus Herling and screenwriter Johannes Rotter tell the story of part of their common homeland. The main character in the film, Hilde, was once the youngest head of the canteen in the GDR, and after many low blows she wants to achieve something great again. Become your own boss, that’s it. “It’s about people who are attached to their homeland and try to master their fate,” says Krampe.
ARD Degeto will shoot in Pasewalk until next Thursday. It is one of several productions that were or will be shot in the Northeast this year. “So far, around 20 cinema and television productions have been made in our state,” says Antje Naß from the MV Film Fund. The successful television series such as “SOKO Wismar”, “Polizeiruf 110”, “Praxis mit Meeresblick”, “Usedom Krimi” and “Stralsund” have already been turned off for two episodes each. “Käthe und ich” was currently shooting in Waren an der Müritz.
It is great to see that the film work is spread across the entire state, said Naß. “For the new movie” In a country that no longer exists “by Aelrun Goette, the beach in Nienhagen was just the setting, the movie” Muxmäuschenstill 2 – Die Kreuzbergritter “by Jan Henrik Stahlberg staged the small town of Schwaan and the surrounding area. “
According to Naß, the outlook for the coming half-year is equally promising: A number of major feature film productions such as “Alfons Zitterbacke’s chaotic class trip” by Mark Schlichter, “Alaska” by Max Gleschinski or “Last Song for Stella” by Kilian Riedhof with Paula Beer in the lead role currently in preparation.
